Our 2008 edition of the 'Kinryu Majan Taikai' tournament will take place on September 27th.

The venue is:

The tournament will count for the European Riichi Ranking.

Rules

We will play according to the rules used during the European Riichi Championship in Hannover last June. You can find the rules here or here (PDF format in A4 and A5). However, we do not play with red fives.

Instead, we play with the yakitori. This chip (with a roasted chicken - yakitori - on it), is placed face-down when you make mahjong. If all players have declared mahjong, the yakitori's go face up again. Any player(s) not having a closed yakitori at the end of the session, will pay 1.500 points to the other player(s) that do.

Participation

We invite our international Mahjong friends to participate in this tournament as well. European contestants will need an EMA number to be able to participate (e-mail us if you don't have one).

Subscription is open until August 31, 2008 - after that date, you will only be admitted if we have four players (so three more besides yourself).

The entrance fee has been established at €12,50 per person (including lunch), which you may transfer to:

We will play a total of 4 rounds of 90 minutes each. The complete schedule:

15 minutes break
14:15 - 15:45 3rd round
15 minutes break
16:00 - 17:30 4th round
